Sad, I missed Bevan's passing. Bevan founded Sunstate Airlines, Australian Airlines (TAA) bought in and Sunstate ultimately became a Qantas subsidiary.

I think he also owned or leased Lady Elliot Island which was services by his airline Noosa Air? I seem to recall Bevan also had a car dealership?

Hard business man, good operator, great respect. And a worthy competitor.

He owned a Holden dealership in Maryborough.

Lady Elliot was owned/leased (not sure) in partnership with John & Judy French, at least for part of a Bevan’s association. From the mid 80’s Whittaker Air Charter serviced Lady Elliot from Bundy with Islanders, Nomad & Twotter.

RIP.

RIP Bevan, a Gentleman that I was fortunate to meet in the 90s. Remember his three Twotters servicing Lady Elliot from Hervey Bay.
