Has anybody heard the rumour that Eastern are looking to get a couple of EMB 145's?
Whats the word on the street?

At the minute, Eastern is leasing two ERJ-135s from a Swedish airline, as a test on whether they would be a good replacement for the J31s and J32s, which, i think they would be.
Apparently, the airline is expected to announce an expansion announcment later this year.

Eastern only wet-lease ONE ERJ135 from City Airlines, used on NWI-ABZ. The rumour-tree has them slated to receive two ex BRT ERJ145s (G-EMBA/B), both of which are at the end of their leases, with possibly 2/3 more to follow. Passenger reaction to the 135 has apparently been very good.

Eastern have promised to put an E145 on the NWI - ABZ route for the summer programme, but pax figures on any other routes do not warrant the upgrade to a jet service.
They have also said that all NWI originated scheduled services will be operated by the JS41, (already on the NWI - EDI route).

Possibility exists for the summer of a NWI - Bristol route, to be confirmed. The main customer would be, (as with EDI), Norwich Union Insurance staff.
