A sad loss - mark was on the F-4 course ahead of mine.
I recommend that the accident report should be read in detail: http://www.fomento.es/NR/rdonlyres/3BD150EE-9B94-4C27-8820-06B5CD8928AD/2428/1999_059_A_ENG.pdf .

20 years already?
I remember watching him display one of the company Spits at the White Horse show. I was on top of the hill - thrilling stuff watching him roar uphill towards you and clear the ridge. A fine aviator and top bloke, sadly missed.

Good grief - 20 years already. I remember hearing that sad news like it was yesterday.

A sad loss - mark was on the F-4 course ahead of mine.
I also seem to recall from the depths of ageing memory, that he was on the final Hunter TWU course?

One Tuesday afternoon in spring 1988, Mark flew a Spitfire into Sibson for a break during filming at the Nene Valley Railway - I think it was for the series 'Piece of Cake'. I well remember chatting idly with him while sitting in the shade of that beautiful aircraft. The impression of a quiet, unassuming man is still with me thirty years later.
