Commnts from out friends on arrse,

https://www.arrse.co.uk/community/threads/the-gate-runner-how-a-bizarre-breach-at-mildenhall-transformed-base-security-across-the-air-force.295097/

And the Air Force Times published story.

Some interesting comments regarding base security and internal reaction forces. How many RAF stations have the same unacknowledged problems.

Probably not a subject for discussion on a public forum.

Perhaps you would like to convey your paranoia to the Air Force Times.

I think this is the question campbeex is commenting on.

This is the 21st Century - if there IS an issue it WILL be outed fairly quickly - nothing remains secret any longer

I seriously doubt anything posted on a BB is news to either the good guys or the bad guys - its just the public whoa re expected to remain in blissful ignorance - which is all too often used to cover up failings rather than address them IMHO

As the OP, like the NHS the MoD is prone to ineffectiveness and then when something happens 'cover up'.

The teddy bear “was torn apart during the apprehension,” the report said.

is that standard practice for a suspected bomb?!!

Poor bear. He was innocent.

How do you know it was innocent? And why do you presume it was a he?!

You know what happens when you assume...

I read through that report and noted that "lessons had been learned, etc", but I'm not sure any system could ever be expected to deal with a secret agent, in a Volvo, with a 2 foot tall Teddy Bear, with a desire to get up close and personal with the flightline!?

Shame about the Bear of course, he seemed largely innocent in this sad affair.
