Tonights Evening Times reports that PIA will start operating from Glasgow, possibly as soon as next month.

Routes mentioned are Lahore and Faisalabad.

This was rumoured about a year ago but nothing happened. If it does happen where are they going to park it given the lack of international gates avail at GLA???

It was about this time last year it was mentioned, but I think their original plans were postponed due to the events of 9/11. As you probably know, PIA had to suspend services to BHX for quite a while due to the fighting in Afganistan, so the launch of any new services was probably delayed.

Now that things have calmed down a bit in that area they seem to be resurrecting thier plans.

Possibly an A310 mondays and thursdays, routing through another European city?

Interesting that they have not yet specified which Glasgow airport.

Wonder which one gives them lowest costs and biggest operational flexibility ?;)

Findo,

Maybe I'm wrong in my thinking, but I thought Glasgow only had one airport (EGPF).

Are you aware of another, or are you refering to Ayr Airport ?

Cheers
