Possibly trying to cycle the gear doors with without a nosegear pin? It's been done before on other aircraft.

Whoops

Hope no-one hurt. Will be a costly mistake I reckon.

Not to worry, they’ve got plenty of spares parked down the road at DWC

Similar event with an SQ A330 while parked at the gate 4 years ago. That was caught on tape.

That will polish right out.

Nothing to see here....move along.

Plus we just do things better at EK, so this would never happen to us...but if it did then we just put the responsible person in jail and deduct the damage from his salary. But it never happened.

I bet more effort is given to looking for the poor sod who took/shared the picture instead of finding out the root cause of the incident!.

Of course.

But that's pretty much SOP

Did it do any damage to the hanger floor? The floor is there for a long time... the A380 appears not to be so. (sadly; the 380 is a great passenger appeal aircraft even to Boeing drivers).

A policy that's tried and tested and found to be successful throughout the middle east !

actually, thats the case, well two 6 1/2 year old ones are being retired and parted out anyway...this one might join?

Still can figure out why those two are being parted out .

seems strange when there must be higher cycle ones in the system....damage/maintenance history maybe? sure would be interesting

Apparently they were coming up for a major check soon but who knows?

hmmm...that would probably do it...hope they have lots of good expensive serviceable parts left on them, seems remarketing options are few for those planes....
