That had only just gone through a rebuild in NSW !!!!!!!!!!! To tear the undercarriage off is a mean feat on those! Lucky it had wire strike cutters on its steel legs. VH-TVU from memory

Do they put a ferry fuel tank inside the hopper, or convert the hopper to a ferry fuel tank for a flight like that to NZ?

The hopper is turned into a fuel tank. There is a conversion that is done.
