Radio 6 PR reporting that a 'Cobham aircraft' has collided with a lighting tower at the 'gate' at the GA section of Perth Airport this arvo.

Aircraft type not stated, but said to be an '82 seater'...…Nil injuries reported.
Either a brakes problem, or...….'Oh Dear'!

Does that make it officially, 'Lights Out' for Cobham...??

Cheers.

p.s. later Bulletin - Now reported as being a '4-engined jet'.....

4 engines is a bit of a stretch of the imagination...

Good timing, special welcome for the new Q400 that arrived about the same time, firies wouldn't have had to make a second trip to give it a spray.

No brakes, and no steering either? Someone forget those 2 HYD switches?

This is even a bigger stretch from https://thewest.com.au/news/perth/cobham-aviation-plane-crashes-into-light-tower-at-perth-airport-ng-b881276619z

"An airport carrying FIFO workers crashed after the brakes of a plane failed."

Park brakes work a treat when they are selected ON.

Obviously hit with considerable force to bend the wings back and down like that.

You’d be making sure the hydraulic pumps were in the on position and erasing the FDR before you left the flight deck wouldn’t you? ;)

Glad there are no injuries.

But for the grace of one of the many gods and all.

Media... talk about a WILD overreaction and totally over-the-top language "... a plane has CRASHED..."

Only one question, where's the world's greatest aviation expert, isn't this his backyard and just the sort of incident that has his head hanging out of the TV all day???

From photos that I have seen it does not look pretty. I wonder if it will be repaired?
