Hi Pilots,

I am a commercial pilot doing some research into MH370.

I am trying to track down any pilot who was in the same airspace during the same time the aircraft disappeared to find out what they might have heard during their flight.

Also if you happen to know anyone that was flying at that time/place can you please pass these details on to them.

The Flight Information area was Lumpar Radar on frequency 132.6 and the time frames are from (8/3/2014 00:47 Malaysian Local time or 16:47 UTC) to (8/3/2014 01:40 Malaysian Local time or 17:40 UTC).

From what we can gather these were some of the possible flights in the same vicinity:

Landing at Kuala Lumpur

AXM 1017 - Air Asia (Baiyun Intl to China to Kuala Lumpur Int)

CPA 791 - Cathay Pacific (Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur Int)

AXM 1089 -Air Asia (??? to Kuala Lumpur Int)

AXM 7092 - Air Asia (??? to Kuala Lumpur Int)

CES 5093 -China Air ( ??? to Kuala Lumpur Int)

Taking off from Kuala Lumpur

XAX 506 - Air Asia (Kuala Lumpur Int to Seoul)

Overflying

THY 67 - Turkish Airlines ( Denpasar - DPS to Istalanbul- IST)

MH370 ACARS COMPARED AGAINST ADSB LOG

Hi,

I am a commercial pilot doing some research into MH370.

Just wonder if there is anyone with a high level of technical expertise in ACARS and ADSB systems (i.e. knows at a very detailed level the accuracy of the print outs/logs) that could let me know if the following is a genuine anomaly or there is some technical details that I have missed.



Extract from ACARS

GMT 170143 LATITUDE 4.708 LONGITUDE 102.534

Extract from ADSB LOG

(closest latitude matching to the above)

LATITUDE 4.708108 LONGITUDE 102.5282


Note, the difference in distance between the latitudes is just 12 metres. So for practical terms assume they match up.

However the distance between the longitudes is 0.31 Nautical Mile or (576 metres).

One would have thought that both systems in the aircraft ACARS and ADSB should both very closely match up. The accuracy of the GPS would be in the order of 15 metres.

Rules for radio calls when reaching assigned level during Early 2014

Hi,



I am a commercial pilot doing research into MH370.

I just wonder if any airline pilots (ideally any from Malaysian Airways) who have flown in the Malaysian airspace in early 2014 would remember if your airline standard operating procedures required them to make level calls when in a radar environment.

i.e.

ATC says "Airline 3455 cleared to flight level 350"

When you reach FL350 do you

(a) Say nothing

(b) or "Airline 3455 maintaining flight level 350"


Also as per my previous post if you happened to be flying in close proximity to the time MH370 took off and then went missing and you heard anything on the radio please contact me.
