living as I do, 300m or so from treashold of 06 at London/Bicester Village international airport, I was surprised to see 3 Typhoons (or were they Gripen) flying straight and level West to East directly overhead at a very moderate altitude (looked below 2k) today at around 13:10. The unusual noise brought me out of the house and, of course, I only got to see them as they flew off down Churchill road in trail. But they were definitely pointy with canards....

Allegedly wheels down (According to participants at the regional Gliding competition at LBVA) where were they going? Were they lost on the way back from RIAT.? Surely this is most unusual to see fast jets in (or very very close to) a Gliding site during a competition...

These , and other questions.

Don't ask the pilots: Ask the Flight Management Computers.

It could have been the German Typhoons heading back home after RIAT.

There were also 3 swedish Gripen in attendance at RIAT.

Whereas it’s entirely commonplace to see gliders, during competitions, interfering with the traffic pattern at our MOBs 😆😆
