Friend of mine traveling on BA269 to lax today, plane turned back to the gate to offload an 11 year old boy who was supposed to be on a different flight. Police came and took him, then everyone deplaned and the flight was delayed three hours.

With all the scrutiny you get in flights to the USA these days, how does this happen? I imagine the check in staff will be asked some questions. His parents were in the boarding area for a different flight. At least they discovered it before they had gotten too far.

When I see the commotion at gates at some airports I fly from, it would be quite easy for a kid to slip through unnoticed.
