Jet Provost XM466

I just wondered if anyone might know the current location or airworthiness of jet provost XM466 originally from 1FTS Linton on Ouse ?

I have found a photograph of a family member flying the aircraft many moons ago and it would be nice to trace the aircraft if possible. I understand it was bought by private owners and based at Santa Rosa California at least until 2015. From then I cannot seem to find out much information to to whether the aircraft is still airborne?

it would be nice to find out further information on the aircraft/picture in 2019 and report back to the family.

Just had a look at Sonoma on Google Maps - can't see a JP but there are a number of vintage jets plus a D-21!

It it would be great to know if the current owner still flys it. Maybe with all the vintage stuff it’s still there somewhere.

Firstly many thanks to everyone for the above posts and help. It is much appreciated.

I find it extraordinary luck that this aircraft XM466 has remained flying, still airworthy today and also in the original colour scheme.

My uncle who flew it recently passed away so it is nice to inform the family that this aircraft still lives on.
I am sure that I will find myself in that part of the world at some point so I will make a point of stopping by and taking a look at the aircraft in all its glory. (If allowed)

I am surprised it retained the red first aid kit markings on the port side, wasn't there a directive came out to paint the crosses green as it was at the time seen to contradict the Geneva convention as it is forbidden to fire on an aircraft carrying the red cross and the aircraft being military etc made it a touchy subject open to interpretation.

Nutloose I can confirm on the picture I have, Be it black and white the first aid kit markings exist in the same place. It also appears to be in the same shade as the bulk of the red part of the aircraft suggesting it hasn’t changed to green.

Could it be due to its role at the time as a training aircraft it remained unchanged? Maybe it only applied to those air frames in a combat role (I am only wild guessing here)

Good to see XM466 still flying, I first flew in her in Jan 1984 on a night SCT with Ed Jarron just after arriving from RFS at Leeming, long may it continue.

Many trips in her in '68 - '69 when instructing at Linton, she was in the old silver & day-glo then! Great to know she is still going.
