An ex-colleague of mine has made the move to Australia on a full sponsored VISA. He is flying the EJet, however, Airnorth is looking for Training and Checking Pilots for an immediate start for the Embraer EMB120 - Brasilia fleet. The local advert is on a website called 'AFAP - Pilots jobs, Airnorth.'

Does anyone have an info on this, as the chance to permanently relocate to Australia is attractive?

You might have a bit more luck on the Australia, New Zealand & the Pacific forum under PPRuNe Worldwide. I think there's the 457 visa but I am not sure if that'll lead to permanent residency. I'm a bit out of touch on that front. Recently, pilots were on the skills in demand list so you might be in luck. I couldn't find any job under Airnorth, but I could find one for Skippers.

Airnorth will employ a limited number of overseas Pilots, based in Darwin, NT. They have the ability to Sponsor a VISA (regional migrant VISA, ex 457), which leads to permanent residency after a agreed time. 3-4 years from memory.

The ad mentioned on AFAP, is expired and was aimed at local applicants. I believe they may advertise on flightglobal shortly, as they did this previously. Larger Airlines recruiting heavily in Aus, is hurting the regional airlines, who can employee overseas Pilots to create some stability in senior and T&C'ing positions.

HR email address will accept CV's
