Hi!

Looking for strips anywhere in QLD or NSW that you can land at purely for the purpose of having breaky or lunch and not have to catch a taxi into town.

Thanks!

Cootamundra is an easy walk into town. Nice places to choose from. And no landing fees. Moruya for a beach picnic; very short walk from the airport. Merimbula; the seafood restaurant (Wheelers) is about 15 minutes easy walk from airport

SHEPPARTON is only 15 minutes south of the border. The Aero Club puts on a 3 course lunch on Saturdays and breakfast SundYs. Cabins across the road for an overnight if you decide to sample the delights of the licensed bar.

Wander off Sunday morning to Milewa for morning tea and some take aways before heading back home.

I've also walked up to the Peppermill (http://peppermillinnhotel.com.au/menu/), a few hundred metres north of the airport, and enjoyed a pretty good meal.

Blue Wren Winery is a 5-minute walk through vineyards from Mudgee airport; and the Aero Club has a courtesy car so next time you can venture further afield.
Highly recommend breakfast at the Mudgee Brewing Co.

Cooly has a nice little cafe over the other side of the highway.

I am told Old Bar (near Taree) has good hamburgers, but I've never tried it.

Reasonable cafe at Cessnock aerodrome.

Nothing at Scone just yet but Airspeed Aviation has a courtesy car most of the time and 5 or 6 decent cafes in town.

White Cliffs airport is 5 minutes lazy stroll to the pub.... and the publican will probably be the bloke who sells you avgas.

Gunnedah probaby a 10 minute walk into town.

....and Wollongong/Shellharbour/Illawarra/AlbionPark/KiamaNorth/DaptoSouth has a very very good mobile coffee van off the highway at the approach end of RWY 26 with a great view :ooh:
