Sat behind a GV for departure today and noticed thin whisps of ‘smoke’ coming out of what appeared to be a vent on the engine cowl side by the (?) reverser doors. Was like that for a good ten minutes.

Wasn’t too worried as it was on both sides but it’s the first time i’ve noticed it. What was I seeing?

Probably oil breather overflow.

Yep - oil breather. Globals with the same engine (BR710) are the same

The BR710 gearbox contains a breather used for venting the main areas of the oil system, and the breather is attached by line to a vent located on the engine nacelle.

See video from 1 min 06 sec: the smoke is coming out of the right engine oil vent mast, located at the rear between the reverser buckets.
