Sky TV users can watch, for nowt extra, an excellent series on the Smithsonian HD channel (195) called Air Warriors. The Harrier featured recently, with the F-4 and other types to follow. Well produced shows and splendid viewing in HD. Usually on at 2200 on Tuesdays and repeated at other times.
Apologies if this heads-up has already been posted elsewhere.

Also note the Smithsonian series on America from the Air, and America States.
All based on impressive air-to-ground filming; a touristic education, but the narration identifies some historical military gems and provides insight to the US psyche.

Alas, Beags, apparently not in my neck of the mysterious East, despite a good aerial signal and recent channel refreshes.
Update: Just discovered that my local TV mast (Sudbury) doesn't handle a number of Freeview channels, including Smithsonian.

XV490 , yes - it seems that the COM7 & COM8 multiplexes aren't available from the Sudbury transmitter.... :(

( I see that I last flew XV490 almost 36 years ago - 7 Jun 1983)

Smithsonian is consistently of my favorite channels. A number of really good series - Air Warriors (tonight's episode is the Spitfire on this side of the pond. last week was the P-38 Lightning, others of note include F-22, the MiG series and the F6F Hellcat). Aerial America is usually quite good, and new series Aerial Britain. It's also were we get 'Mayday' (called Air Disasters on Smithsonian).
