A380s landing at LHR

Last Tuesday spent a couple of hours watching aircraft landing 27R, very enjoyable.However, the Emirates and Qatar A380 landed on 27L, any idea why this is please?
PS BA A380 landed 27R with everything else.

Think it might be to do with taxiway restrictions, not all are suitable for Code F operations. BA are going straight into the T5 complex which was designed with the 380 in mind. Friend of mine who is heavily involved with Airside pavements at Heathrow was talking about it several years ago.

EK use T3, QR use T4. Shorter taxy from 27L.

Almost all the taxiways at LHR can take an A380.

As David said, it will have been related to ease of access to the parking spot and LHR being accommodating.
