He was the CCO. He may have left to pursue other opportunities, but he had the chance to do that in 2016. The fact he is leaving so soon and with no notice after a relatively poor financial performance points to severe turbulence on the upper floors of EGHQ.

Good guy I'd say. Sad to see him leave. Thought he was earmarked for more?
Wonder where EK is headed? More regional? Lowcost?
Longterm shrinking their A380 fleet will require a complete overhaul of the hub Dubai concept (and EK itself) as they have not too many slots in peak times. Bringing in less passengers it's harder to fill the outbound connections too.

What is interesting is that CM's departure was announced months in advance but TA was announced as being replaced with immediate effect.

It does look like he was pushed.
