I have a family member in the southern hemisphere who has been tasked with exploring the suitability of one of the above for work in the sub ant artic. Conservation type work. Outside of my area of expertise so I thought I would ask the experts. All information welcome.

An AS350 is an Ecurieuil (? SP) which is a Squirrel. Or are you wanting to decide between a tail rotor and a fenestron?

Plenty of 350s used down there.

As above, AS350 = Squirrel if you're from anywhere but the states.

Helicopter Resources in Tasmania, Australia send machines down every year with the Australian Antarctic Division and would likely have answers to any and all the questions you might have.

:p

The AS350 is ideal for routine ops in Antarctica, but make sure you get one with a working heater :hmm: As already mentioned, Helicopter Resources have years of experience and would be the ideal company to contact :ok:

I'm pretty sure those pics are from the ARCTIC, not the ANTARCTIC, cause Santa Claus is behind the controls.

Do they not have good boys and girls in the Antarctic?
