Any one else go? Despite the rain today it was still pretty good fun, the kids enjoyed it. From accounts from others the weather was better yesterday. This year entry to the HARS aircraft was included in the airshow ticket which was good. The event seemed well run.

The flying program today was reduced a bit due to the showers but what flew was good. The jet provost was graceful and Paul Bennett entertained in the wolf pro. The Russian roooletts had a bit of a change of underwear moment, one of their aircraft got very low during a manoeuver and they broke off their display. Their commentator even swore over the PA....

Very well run, yesterday was the pick of the days by the sounds of it.

So those of us that weren’t there can get an idea of the gravity of what happened, did the commentator use the S or the F word?

which aircraft of the Rooletes?

Not sure the callsign, but their display started normally with their break toward the crowd. The 3 Nanchangs did their "Heart" loop and then the Yaks did the thing where one aircraft does a barrel roll around the smoke trail of the other, about 500 to 1000 feet agl. "Something" happened and the aircraft doing the roll had a wobble as if they had slightly stalled a wing and was headed for the ground with a fair bit of bank on, it rolled level and probably pulled up at about 100 feet above the ground. They sensibly broke off the rest of the display.

Not sure if it was related to some turbulence form the surrounding hills, the wind was from the south about 15 knots at ground level, higher at altitude.. It could also have been the slipstream of the front aircraft, especially if they hold a straight ground track for the maneuver as the wind was 90 degrees to the flight path.
