Hi,

I am a pilot with EZY looking at transferring back to the UK from a European base. I have heard via rumour that the FO 75% contract from April is ending and all new transfers will be on 100% FRV contracts.

Does anyone know how true this may be?

Thanks!

Perhaps ask this question in the easyJet private forum? Where it will be noticed considerably more easily by others.

But no idea, due to a lack of FO’s in the UK everyone who wants 100% has it anyway.

This is correct. And yes, we're very short of FO's, especially at HQ.

Just out of curiosity: are they still recruiting if they are that short of pilots?? There are no job openings on their website
I applied for easy swiss but no reply so far except having the online test completed.

I’ve been in the holdpool a year U.K. NTR FO and not had a call. I’ve spoken to them too and get the same old answer that they’ll contact in due course.

Not sure but I transferred between 2 bases in the UK and was made to take 75% from being 100%. Even though the base I was moving to was short of FOs.

I accepted and before the transfer actually happened was sent an email offering 100% straight away.

Ah but you cost money to hire, something easyJet are reluctant to spend haha!

Slightly off topic (sorry), but has anyone joined EZY externally and been offered anything other than 100%? I remember hearing they were struggling to get people through the door with the 75% contract (quite rightly).

Of course they are, as long as they can fill the spots with equally qualified and rated people then they will. Anything else would be pi@@ing shareholders money down the drain.

Technically the opposite is true. As a rated pilot you are bonded for the training you receive. As a non rated DEP you (FO’s) have to front the cost of the type rating up front costing the company nothing. As a NTR DEC the type rating fee is removed the salary each month for 36 months. Again costing the company nothing. Granted it takes longer to train a NTR pilot but being cheaper?? Not in this day and age!

Airbus 330 rated but on a foreign licence!! 🤔

VJW

So yeah non rated - even if that 330 was on a EASA licence

Apart from easy Swiss, the only active recruitment seems to be for ex Wow rated FO. As recent as last week though, there were a few NTR FO sim assessments at CAE LGW. I think the continued uncertainty over BREXIT is delaying future plans. However, with people leaving to BA and KLM etc. there will undoubtedly be a steady requirement for FO’s at least.

From anecdotal evidence, we are short of FO's at Luton.

Yes they have taken on some new DEP NTR FO’s on the 75% contract recently.

They’ve also taken on TR FOs on the same contract; shock horror that they’re haemorrhaging FOs

So they advertise it as full time and then offer 75%. Nice.

Anyone on the inside have a ‘feeling’ for ongoing CP requirements at LGW & LTN? If a fair number of FO’s are leaving, presumably that will are a knock on affect for Command upgrades?

Command positions are still easily filled internally, except Portugal. Also, hundreds of ex-Air Berlin FOs have now entered the command process with more than enough hours.

Question is though, would Berlin based Pilots be happy to transfer to LGW/LTN for Command? Doubtful, and probably even more so until Brexit gets sorted one way or the other.

No, they probably won’t. However, I have friends on the reserve list for LGW commands this training year (until June) yet to be called which indicates there is no shortage of people willing to take LGW commands.

I have recently been offered a 75% contract at LGW as a new joiner, meaning 100% during summer and 50% during winter. Should I also expect to be asked to upgrade to a 100% year-round contract quite soon, or will I most likely be stuck at 50% for the winter season?

Was offered 100% before end of growing school.

Don't suppose anyone could advise whether those eligible for SFO are being offered fixed pattern at time of joining (subject to 100% roster)?

In March 2017, at the interview day, we were told all FOs/SFOs would join on flexi roster and 90% pay for 6 months. When I received the offer for LGW in June 2017 I was given the choice of flex or fixed and 100% salary from day one. I was rated with around 4000hrs at the time.

Sorry I don’t have any more up to date info but I imagine the recruitment situation is similar nowadays.

Yes. From day 1, joining 2019, fixed pattern. 100%.

Hi all,

Anybody know when they will be recruiting DEC’s again?

Also if somebody could send me a private message with a contact detail for HR?

cheers.

I’ve mates who’ve been in the DEC hold pool over a year- with eJ extending their stay an additional 6 months. I’ve no idea of the recruitment plans but draw a conclusion from that if you want :/

Sorry for the news but on re- reading the friends I have waiting for a call are all non rated. I don’t know your details but maybe the chance of needing rated DEC’s is better but I’ve no idea.

Intake for S19 has been completed a while ago, still many of them being trained as we speak. Recruitment/Available slots for DEC's might slow down for next year, last 2 internal command courses have been cancelled for this summer. FO's in the company always get priority over DEC's so there seem to be an internal cue as well.
