Just wanted to put together a list which airlines do hire prop pilots for flying long haul flights on a jet. If you know some others just feel free to add them.

Aerologic, Cargolux, Cathay, Emirates, LOT, Singapore Airlines

Im guessing you are mentioning it is either with their future pilot cadet programme or heavy turbo prop pilot. Unless you know someone going from light a/c or light turbo prop to BA long haul or even short haul?

Emitates,

We will accept applications from pilots flying multi-engine, multi-crew, turboprop and/or jet aircraft, including business jets, with a MTOW of 10 tonnes or more. As a First Officer on our Boeing 777 and A380 fleets, you must meet these minimum requirements: • 2000 hours flying an aircraft with a MTOW ≥ 20T OR • 3000 hours flying an aircraft with a MTOW ≥ 10T

BA have just closed their recruitment for modular pilots with 200 hours, light aircraft only experience for short haul based out of Gatwick

If you have a few thousand hrs of pic time in any twin turboprop, right seat long haul will not cause you to break a sweat.

I know numerous folk that have gone from a SF340 turboprop on to long haul with BA operating on the 747, 777 and 787. This is all within the last two years.

We have recently taken on guys that have flown things like the ATR and Dash series of turboprops directly on to LH types - seems to be a relaxing of the regs under EASA, allowing these lighter types to qualify for ZFT training onto heavy tin/plastic.

I’ve flown with a couple of them, both ex-skippers on their type, and they’re doing just fine. At least as well as, and in many cases better than, ex-Cadet-Airbus drivers.
