Just wondered how to get an XP 352.print as cheaply as possible.

I was using an Epson printer, with non epson inks, which was fine for what I needed.

Old printer broke down, now using an XP 352. (same cartridges) Tried my non epson inks but getting a "non genuine ink" message, which, previously, was easy to navigate around.

I was paying around 3 quid for a cartridge previously, now an epson one is 15 quid.

Have tried disabling epson status monitoring, and powering off between changing with no avail.

How do people get around this ? Is it worth buying a second hand printer off e-bay ?

I believe you can't refill the cartridges as they have an inbuit "counter."

I'm using windows 10

many thnaks

Try a set of cartridges from Ebay from someone with a good feedback. Most of the non genuine ones say they can be used so you might just be being unlucky with the set you're trying to swap over. The set I just looked at on Ebay was £4.90 for the four cartridge set, so worth a gamble before buying a new printer.

I learned a long time ago not to look at the price of the printer but to look at the price of the ink refills, I've recently bought a Brother DCP-T310 and I can buy the bottles of ink on eBay or even cheaper on a local site

It had been 8 years since I last needed to buy a printer, technology has moved on so I needed to refamiliarise myself and Ilearned that the way to go was refillable inks
