Hi all,

I have upcoming airline interviews/assessments and was wondering if any of y'all have used Pinstripe or a similar consulting service. I already have the interview gouges and questions, and am preparing answers to those. However I do wonder if there's a benefit to using these and would hate to miss out knowing I didn't do everything I could.

Would love to hear your experiences.

Thanks in advance

Ask yourself this.

If you missed out on the job, and didn't do interview coaching, would you regret it?

From my experience, worth every cent for an advantage over other candidates.

Considering interview coaching is ops normal for every successful airline candidate I know, you would be putting yourself at a significant disadvantage by not doing it. This is just the game we have to play now.

It’s an absolute must in my opinion. To get an airline job, learning how to interview is just as important as learning to fly. Sad, but there you have it.

Thanks guys. Next question being, in terms of coaching, is Pinstripe the right firm to go to, or are there any other recommendations?

Yep. I found Sasha at Flight Deck Consulting excellent. Great, honest input which I was genuinely thinking about when I did the interview. I got the job, so she must've been right.

I have used both Flightdeck Consulting and Pinstripes before, and both times got the job.

They both have certain airlines they 'better' specialise in, so if you can tell us who you are looking at it might help.

Qlink - Pinstripes (she is very knowledgable about the QF group)
Cathay - Flightdeck (she used to work there)

Good luck!

Used Pinstripe for Qlink. Best money ever spent.

Also try and get a few hours on a 737 or similar sim if you don't already fly turbine

Thanks, will definitely check out Pinstripe.

For sim how does FSX+Level D 767 compare to an actual proper sim? I'm on a smidgen over 250TT with no turbine experience

On the other side of the coin - in the early 2000's I was involved in conducting interviews for Virgin Blue and subsequently the Toll B737 operation. About 75% of the applicants had simply no clue as to how to conduct themselves at an interview (shuffling their feet, not answering the questions, never looking you in the eye etc). So if there's assistance available - I say take it!
