Looking at the photos of today’s arrivals at Heli Expo 2019, I see there’s a photo of an S92 in Everett colours arriving on an oversize load truck, with the Everett logo on the sponson and Kenyan registration 5Y EXZ on the tail under a Kenyan flag.
Has anyone heard where it’s going to be based and who it’ll be flying for?

No one, the helicopter workload has halved now the Inpex field is in production. The choice was to keep either Bristow or PHI.

When I collected my badge yesterday , had a glance through the window on the second floor so my photos. Unfortunately no one apart from exhibitors are allowed during setting up of the show.

The S92A has been leased through Lobo leasing and according to a statement by CEO, Simon Everett at HAI, it will initially be based in Dar es Salaam. Everett built its own private passenger terminal and a new hangar capable of holding 4 or 5 S92s in 2014, when it got the Statoil contract, so it looks as if Simon Everett’s foresight is paying dividends at last. He has managed to outlast CHC, INAER and Bristow in East Africa, drawing on his credentials as a locally based company and willingness to invest considerable sums in facilities and infrastructure when other companies only looked to short term investment.

Simon Everett was at a handing over ceremony at the Sikorsky stand at HAI

“We’re delighted to be introducing the S-92A to the Everett fleet. Many regions across sub-Saharan Africa are seeing a tremendous boom in infrastructure and civil engineering projects, and our new S-92A is ideally suited to supporting those missions.

“This particular helicopter is equipped with a highly versatile utility interior, which can seat up to 19 passengers in standard configuration or mix passengers with stretchers or cargo in a combined configuration. We also see opportunities for the S-92A in the offshore role in our region, and we plan to offer that configuration to our clients soon.

“This S-92A will be the largest civilian helicopter of its type in our region, and we’re very excited about adding this unique capability to our fleet. We’d like to acknowledge and thank Lobo Leasing and Sikorsky for their foresight and support in working with us on this project,”

It’s nice to see the small guys of the industry achieving some success, as opposed to the top-heavy, bean-counter run behemoths which are now falling like skittles. At least Simon Everett is actually a practising helicopter and fixed-wing pilot and has a very small management. Well done

Lobo wanted $20M for it a couple of years ago! I hope it’s had some TLC since ....

Or even AAR!
Looks like no floats fitted, indicating a potential land based role, as before.

There are several pre-owned Sikorsky 92's available at the moment.
