Are there any knowledgeable folks on here that are boned up on air law who can tell me what is the legal distance for flying separation from people, building etc. in a rural area when just offshore?

It's 500 feet from people buildings vehicles and structures. UK is different from Europe as we have filed a difference from SERA which states a minimum altitude of 500 feet.
Thus you can fly along a deserted beach as low as you like but have to avoid that dog walker that suddenly pops up............

Yes, you're right 2 sheds but in my mind I had the OP over the beach having noted his "off-shore" comment.
