Hi, does anyone know any training center offering B737CL or NG type for 8 - 9k in the US at this time or within the next 3months?

Wow, that’s a lot. I did the reduced Type on the NG last spring for under 7K ( only possible with prior experience of course). They had an offer at the time. Maybe worth to have a look out for some promotions...

Higher Power Aviation in the KDFW area used to be the go-to place for a B737 type rating. Not sure of the price and the company has changed hands being bought by ATP Flight Schools. But, might be worth a look-see:

ATP Jets, what was Higher Power Aviation, doesn't do any Boeing types.

MI,

Ah so...lost track of that one. Did Southwest dropping the type rating requirement have any part in that ?

ATP bought them to get the 142 certificate so they could do the ATP CTP class. That and their Dispatcher class are the main part of their business now. The type ratings seem to have fallen by the wayside. I would think the lower demand for 737 types would have been part of the reason.

You've started 4 separate threads over the last two years asking about 737 type rating providers (Not including the helicopter type rating thread and the Dornier type rating thread).

Why keep starting the same threads ?

Disclaimer: I don't claim expertise here and may well be out of touch.

I assumed glideslopealive asked about getting the B737 rating in a specific model because he is targeting a company that operates that model. Showing up with training in the B737-200 to a potential employer that operates an NG might not go so well. If one is getting the B737 rating anyway, might as well give it as much punch as possible.

Just a theory.

Exactly bafanguy. I am particular on the type because it is tailored to a particular employer.

Thanks everyone, I have been able to find one. Its called simjet and located at Dallas Executive (Redbird) airport. The cost is just about 1k above what I was looking for. Not very bad when compared to the about 12k or more others were charging.
