I am wondering if anyone has been through the latest recruitment days? Would appreciate any information.

Judging by your username... would I be correct in guessing that you are referring to jet recruitment and not turboprops?

Standard 2 days composed of meet and greet, group assessment, tech exam (atpl stuff), planning exercise, sim (basic ifr handling), presentation, 1 on 1 interview and log book assessment.

Very well run and all the staff involved try to make the candidates as relaxed as possible

What's the reason AirNZ recruitment chat is moved into General Aviation....yet Qantas recruitment remains in the Aus NZ & Pacific forums?

Don’t. Just work through the scenario methodically and write everything down. You will probably run out of time, don’t worry about it.

nike. Often due whether the first post is a personal question:

I am wondering if anyone has been through the latest recruitment days?

Or generic information on a specific airline recruitment which may be beneficial to all professional pilots, rather than one individual:

Given Virgin Blue is long gone, it's time to start a thread about Virgin Australia recruitment.

Interviews are about to commence for ATR FO, B737 (VAINZ) FO and B777 SO positions. Initial interviews will be for those on the hold file (yes there are still some).

We try not to clutter the main Rumour and News forum with a plethora of personal questions. The threads that remain in the R&N forum are of general interest to all or a majority of professional pilots.

Sometimes it is subjective, but we try.

And if you think there may be a Trans Tasman bias, you are certainly not correct.

Hi there,

I watched this occur multiple times over the years.

The descriptions are broadly along the lines of GA / Airlines.

Description: Airline and RPT Rumours & News in Australia, enZed and the Pacific

Versus

Description: The place for students, instructors and charter guys in Oz, NZ and the rest of Oceania.

Your placing too much weight on whether there is a personal question in the opening post bares no reference to the description of this forum.

Further, many Airline pilots may wish to apply to AirNZ, not just 'students, instructors and charter guys' which the forum appears to be directed towards.

Airline recruitment threads for companies within this region will forever be occurring.

Rather than move them to the interview/jobs/sponsorship forum, I agree it makes sense to keep them within this regional forum subgroup....

But why not simply make them a sticky?
And being in this case an airline, keep them in the airline forum?

It would remove your element of subjectivity.

Nike, the forum is “General Aviation & Questions”. And questions. Not, “General Aviation mumble mumble mumble”. The questions bit is in the name of the forum. My experience is that pilots with any interest down under visit both forums, they may as well be called Pacific 1 and Pacific 2. No one misses out when an airline interview question gets placed in the GA & questions forum. It does seem to rankle with some of the Kiwis though when they perceive that Air NZ threads are put in the “GA” forum while all the important Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, Tiger, Cobham, Rex, Alliance, etc threads are put in the Skygod forum. Just relax...

Also, every time you talk to someone you simply MUST tell them what QNH you have set.
