Hello All,

According to NOTAM of RPLL, Why the ILS U/S?

As I know if the ALS out in MNL APO, only the minima will be calculated higher than normal ops .

so I can't understand why the ILS U/S notam Issued.

Would you please let me know?B0206/19 NOTAMN

No obvious reason. You are right about the minima. Maybe some parts working and some parts not working. ALS needed to help judge visibility ( where you break out relative to the cross bar lights). May also be that ( for example) the static lights are working but the REIL isn't. No minima published for that situation. Or a brightness problem that might give an optical illusion. But, yes, it doesn't make it clear what the problem is

I just had a look at the NOTAMS - part of the lighting system is U/S due to work in progress. There is also a notam for temporary runway lengths change, looks like works at the threshold. So, lots of reasons for suspending use of the ILS - only partial lighting, displaced threshold relative to the glide slope, and possible bending of the localiser/glide slope due to machinery / trucks inside the ILS exclusion area.
