Hello,

Considering applying for Ryanair and would like to know if they offer part time roster. Any info would be much appreciated.

Not for new joiners.
They may consider it if you're over 60, or have exceptional circumstances. They usually make it difficult though, by insisting that you find a partner to share a roster with. This means that your duties during your block of work are either all earlies, or all lates, (your roster partner does the opposite during their working block, so you have to agree your preferences with them first).
They also tend to roster you with long duty days during your block of work on a shared roster, as there's not much danger of you infringing cumulative FTLs.
Crewing sometimes get it wrong by rostering you for the opposite duties to your preference.

It can be a hassle for you to arrange and manage Several senior guys, including trainers, have retired early because of the aggravation caused.

I thing is true, they are offering new joiners this contract. Only for new people.
Funny thing is they are going to fly 900 hours but only will recieve the salary for 9 months instead 12.
as we say in Spain “nadie regala duros a 4 pesetas” 😂😂😂😂🤪

Funny thing is that according to EU law, every employee is elligible to work part time, facilitated by the employer.

Of course Ryanair does not care what you, as an employee, would like to expect of your employer.

5 on 13 off. Often they make you go full time for 1 or 2 months a year.

It goes in their favour, as you get half the basic, but work about 5-600hrs a year (more than half the work of a full timer) You will be doing 40hrs in your 5 days on.

I am always astonished with experienced people willing to work for these kind of companies.
It will get worse and worse

Nice name!
All for it!
Reality:2019!
Some of us had little choice.
As I see it as long as You did not PayToFly or pay for the TR you can hold your head high!
Anyway, it is getting better.
This summer it will end in grounded aircraft due to lack of Cpts.
Anyway.
Part time is 5 on 13 of . 3 Months full time and one month off!
It can be done solo, takes a bit of pushing.
A chap I know does 800 rostered block hrs and is quite happy for now!
Its murky water, fishing is good.
Happy landings

800h on part time??? Sounds like full time to me. Or did I misunderstand you here?

It has absolutely nothing to do with being scared of hard work; believe it or not, people can have a life outside of the industry.

The best people I’ve shared a flightdeck with are the ones who are pilots as a job, not a personality

Possibly, certainly they’re not so happy to be called glorified taxi drivers like you guys seem to be enjoying this title.

Thing is, a work day in aviation is often a 12 hrs + endeavour these days. Your family cannot rely on you being available or fit for any family duties at all outside of work. I presume you don't have a family yet. It will change your perspective.

I don't have a family yet and still prefer not to fly 800h. Call me a snowflake then. I'll enjoy my free time as long as I still can.
