From Ananova(31/7):

"British Airways is to transfer more services from Gatwick airport to Heathrow. From the end of October, Gatwick services to San Diego, Denver, Phoenix, Harare and Lusaka will move to Heathrow's Terminal 4.

Three Gatwick short-haul routes - St Petersburg, Tripoli and Sofia in Bulgaria - also move to Heathrow where they will be served from Terminal 1.

BA also announced that from October 27, its flights to New York's Kennedy airport from Heathrow will increase from six to seven daily subsonic services.

An extra daily Athens service will also be introduced at Heathrow bringing the total to three a day. The daily Athens service from Gatwick will be suspended for the winter season.

Frequencies from Gatwick to the Caribbean will be increased with the addition of two services a week to Antigua, resulting in a daily service to the island. This will be complemented by extra onward services to Tobago (from two to three a week) and Grenada (from one to two a week).

Flights to Cape Town from Heathrow will be increased from seven to 10 a week. Some Middle Eastern and Asian routes from Heathrow, including Cairo and Jeddah, will enjoy increased capacity in the form of larger aircraft.

Although still committed to reintroducing the service at some point, flights to Islamabad in Pakistan from Heathrow will remain suspended for the winter season. BA suspended services following the events of September 11."
