View Full Version : CX biggest con

Champagne parties are being planned in the event of a yes vote. The biggest con in cx history is about to go down. In a period of unprecedented global profits in the aviation industry, cx pilots will shortly approve a contract deemed to be a "turd" by their own lead negotiator. The TB is only now starting to have an effect, yet the GC believes it's worthless. Arguments like "the company never backs down" are being thrown around by the GC in the hopes no one remembers the real history (cx has indeed come back with a better offer in the past...). After years of CC and TB, a cost neutral deal will be accepted covering what is expected to be profitable future years. In a year or two, after large profits announced, we'll all wonder how we ended up being conned so badly...with an umbrella agreement to top it all off.

Ask the FAU if CX ever backs down. Oh, that's right, they actually have the balls to stand up to the bully.

bobrun - the threads are full of defeatist weaklings that have a wall full of participation medals - never had to fight for anything in their lives. The same group of capitulating fools will be crying about the profit sharing scheme when CX's record profits don't it fill their pockets.

The new contract includes an average 53 percent across-the-board pay increase, along with a $75 million ratification bonus.

Haha....53% wage increase...! And we are even debating the merits of signing a POS deal that gives us maybe 1% (and amortized over the past three years of no pay increase, that works out to .33% increase....one third of one percent annually!). Tell me again why anyone would vote yes, more less why we shouldn't just shut this airline down now?

53%:::they went from $30,000 per year to $45000!

I wonder if you go onto other airline's websites they claim that CX HKPA has gone up by up to 60% ?
It's easy to have a big rise when you start at a low and perhaps grossly inadequate base. The cabin crew apparently got 3%, but 3% of not very much is still not very much.
There are "Lies, damn lies and statistics"

Looks like the GC could be in on the con. The voting motion we decided on is not even the one used for the actual vote! Are they trying to maintain the option to be able to renegotiate those agreements behind our backs in the future? This is beyond belief. Will the con work?

An interesting read from an investor's viewpoint: Larry Flint's [Chairman and CEO of Blackrock] annual letter to CEO's. [With almost 16m shares, Blackrock is CPA's largest Institutional Shareholder.]
For me, there appears to be a total disconnect between Blackrock's stated 'Investment Stewardship' and CPA's 'Purpose and Profit'. More smoke and mirrors.
