hey kiwi,

I flew a R22 with the DTM-3 Apollo System for half a season, excelent system and ship - 40 US-gal in the tank, but you easy fly an hour without refuel on every stop (like with the Bell 47 - Soloy I flew at the same time....)

There is the same system on the market for the R44, carries 80 US-gal. in the tank - DTM-4 Apollo. I do not know whether it has an emergency drop or not. The small system didnīt.

Check out the following sites:

They distribute the system in OZ.

The small system

At 80 US-gal. you should also be able to fly at least an hour without refueling on the DTM-4.
