Hi all,

so Long story short in bullet points:

-heart murmur when I was a kid
-tried to forget being a pilot
-mitral valve prolapse developed after 20 years
-beginning of this year couldn’t hold it anymore, need to fly!
-went to civil authority to enquiry about possibility of class1 medical certificate.
-was recommended to be operated by the doctor on civil avition authority.
-had open chest surgery 8 months ago, got biological valve implanted, recovery done successfully.
-had all tests done as required by easa (ecg, eco doppler, holter and treadmill stress test) all good with doctors reports.
-go to AME did all tests all ok, got refered to civil aviation authority due to special case. Informed OML to be issued on class med 1.
-got denied due to not possible to get OML on initial.

please help.. I know some of you have undergone the OML struggle..

thanks for your answers

cheers

Hi Vernand,
I have pasted 2 links for you the first is a PDF memo by the Chief Medical Officer of the
CAA regarding OML on initial class 1.

The second is a link to the CAA regarding the OML on initial.
I would suggest you contact the AME regarding what you have been told and
show these.

these are easily got on google, regard's.
