So in March there was the sad case re the FA in Entebbe. I came on here to see if anything had been released lately regarding the incident but discover that the thread has been deleted and sent off into the ether.

Emirates do well at covering up things and pretending they didn't happen don't they?

That’s what they do best, exactly like the Dxb 777 accident.

If a thread has been deleted that is a PPRuNe matter implemented by Mods or Site Admin.

Possibly under pressure from EK of course...….. along similar lines to the banning of discussion of another nearby company. Power corrupts and they've got it in spades.

And the possible/actual blocking of internet access when in UAE...…. although that seems to be up and down like the proverbial whore's drawers ?? Separate thread running on that topic.

AIMINGHIGH.. I find it very sad you dismiss the sad tale of the Purser with such ease.

For your own sake, please remember, as excited as you maybe.. in EK you are only as good as your last sector. And those dreams of wife not working and house in London paid off can change within seconds.

In your own words .. the world is cruel ..,

Another TP pilot that’s just so happy to be here and I thought I was finished with babysitting decades ago.

I think he / she may have Indian East African parents (the dates would coincide perhaps) so the statements may indeed be correct regards to them, though his comments do seem very pro Dubai and EK. As for suicides I believe the highest rate is with the younger generation in the UK currently i.e. 18-30. As for the poor stewardess it would be interesting to see a report, so that everyone could learn from the incident, and put into place better practice which is the minimum that would be required in the UK or Europe. But as I am well aware having done time in the Sandpit you are not in Kansas now.

Kind regards
Mr Mac

Also, any chance of a final report (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flydubai_Flight_981#Final_report) on the crash of FZ981?
To date it's been nearly 2¾ years since it happened.
One wonders by what method the UAE have managed to convince the Russians to sit-on / delay any final report (i.e. one that maybe apportions blame upwards?) no doubt in the hope that we might all forget that it ever happened, and / or that those whom might lose face over it have maybe since retired and / or left (or are leaving) FZ.

You already know the answer OKC, it will be released when all vestige of responsibility has been “cleansed” or removed. The message will be managed in such a way as to be good for business rather than safety. It will be the aviation equivalent of that daft Irish bint chatting to the “missing” Princess and showing how everything is wonderful, nothing to see here Habibi apart from the best malls and superior local driving skills.

Quite a lot to take in here. A turbo prop ace pontificating on long haul lifestyles and tragic events without any real idea of the facts or people involved nor the issues beggars belief even by modern standards. Sounds a fun addition to the team: good luck with the EK line trainers...

Having worked both sides of the runways, I completely concur with okc and the lack of transparency with the Rostov tragedy. Any hope of an honest report have probably gone. Sad on so many levels.

Don’t want to detract from the reason for the thread, however you can join EK direct from a turboprop now? Wow

Guys with 1500 hrs TP going BA 747/777/787.

Not as a Captain they aren't sporto. And where they are recruiting now - the 320 - you need 500hrs on type to get a gig.

Back to the sad tale. Heard disturbing numbers of cabin crew who have taken their own lives in Dubai. These numbers are kept under wraps, but it sounds as if it is on the rise...
