Newark METAR 21 December

Flew into Newark KEWR on UAL17 at around 20:35Z (15:35 local) on 21 December in seat A last but one row at rear. First time I've flown in visibility low enough to be on finals full flap etc before I could see ground. Seemed to break cloud 20 seconds or less before touching down runway 22L. From my perspective as an enthusiast of 40+ years standing it was an interesting experience; nearest I've been to CATII/III.

Is there any way I can find out what cloud base, met visibility and RVR were?

Thanks for that. As I read it then visibility was up and down like proverbial fiddler's elbow - reference to 6000feet RVR at one point. That would be consistent with observation from terminal window while in immigration queue.

Actually the RVR was better than 6000 feet. The "P" before the 6000 means more than 6000 feet even though the visibility was 1/4 mile. The time between breaking out of the clouds and landing is more a function of the cloud height than visibility. Descending 700 feet per minute 200 feet from cloud base to the ground goes by in about 20 seconds.
