I wonder what Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has to say about that considering he legislated real pay for work in Victoria. Interesting to see if the Fair Work Authority has any say on it.

Woolworths do the same...Support Staff are placed into stores during the next fortnight to assist the influx of customers...

But they PAY them.

You are talking about a company whose senior management are totally devoid of a moral compass.

Very sad and disappointing, however not surprising.

Fueled by greed.
Shame.

When one considers that many bigger airlines have about half the amount of administrative staff as Qantas, perhaps Little Napoleon, as one of the industry leaders (in personal remuneration) has made a tacit admission that building empires instead of an airline isn't working too well. Of course he gets the opportunity to wear that new dress up costume. All in the name of festive cheer!

That is of course if he intends 'to lead from the front' and go and hand out unwanted advice to Christmas travellers?

To support our airport teams at [Sydney International Terminal] over the 2018 peak Christmas travel period, we're trialling a new volunteer program for our Campus-based people who'd like to lend a hand to the frontline in December and January,

Did Little Napoleon commission yet another stunning waste of shareholder funds leading a design project team, to come up with a campus name , which to all and sundry is simply an office?

Unlike Little Napoleon, at Rob Fyfe managed Air New Zealand, he himself would work in different areas of the business in order to understand and acknowledge the employees.

Leadership and management are not the same thing.
Little Napoleon claims to be the ascendant manager.

Any bets on whether Little Napoleon will man the counter, 'leading from the front' on Christmas day?
Might be a little tricky to get his close personal security detail trained up on the check in counter

More of the same

From the general publics perspective & that's all this is about to show that QF is a community service (cough cough) they look good in their eyes, it does show that QF uses it's so called good brand name to rape it's employees ! Gotta hand it to the little Leprechaun though he's cunning & lives in a totally different world to us normal people!!

So if you don't work for free, there goes any promotion?

Smart thinking by the managers trying to make their kpi’s this year.

I can’t see the profits looking very healthy now fuel is going up, no more write offs or anything left to sell.

Coming back to a level playing field with us now.

This has been in place for many years and is not just limited to mainline. It is voluntary. It is simple really; don't volunteer. For the people who do - they have non-financial motivations.

Corporate geniuses that forget that profit share needs to be spread around are in for a shock. Globalization has run its course. The Paris riots are just the start. Where's my copy of the Communist Manifesto.......

Sounds like a case of ego driven volunteering in order to get noticed on a roster that is probably cc’d around by certain managers emails in order to get noticed.

Its nothing but a pissing contest.

"Unlike Little Napoleon, at Rob Fyfe managed Air New Zealand, he himself would work in different areas of the business in order to understand and acknowledge the employees."

Once wrote to Rob Fyfe about a matter, and, surprisingly to me, received a personal
reply revealing some deficiencies in AirNZ procedures.

Yes there was a time when QF staff 'were encouraged' to kiss (err wear!) the ring. QF proudly sponsoring the ring.
With that victory for the shareholders of QF, another way to weed out the dissenters may be just what is needed!

No Idea Either

One ring to rule them all Rated De. Perhaps there is some truth to it!!!!

I suppose it’s a bit easier to share the Christmas spirit if you’ve been paid the FY 2017/18 bonus. Maybe that’s why the target audience was management. Those on EBAs need to wait until they have their next EBA signed off to be paid their bonuses.

Yes,plenty of that spirit has been dished out by management that keeps telling everyone they are right & everyone else is wrong, reeks of a dictatorship.
More of the same, divide & try to conquer.
