Hello fellow Rotorheads,

We have started operating H145 Windmill Hoisting Operation in Europe
I was wondering what equipment you all use. Winchman harness, attachment to the helicopter,...
any pictures?
Do you have a sort of Quick-release for the Winchman incase of a ditching... . Now standing on the skid so needs a possibility to quick release

I am used to hoisting on my knees and inside the cabine (AS365) and now the step to the H145 is an adaptation!

hope to hear from you

Which country?

Australia generally uses either SETS or Air Safety Solutions. On board uses Wander Leads from these companies, and rescue crew use a Y-piece for attachment with a quick release built in. However, Australian items require an ATSO approval.

In Europe I would recommend talking to Lite-Flite. They manufacture harnesses and quick releases all to EASA standards.

Did you check carefully your RFM?
It might be that type of harness (PCDS) for such operation is already prescribed by manufacturer. Ther was a big issue with EASA on this topic few years ago.
