Airbus is proposing A320 new generation. What will happen with the current A320 ? What will be the residual value of the A320 classic ?

Actually, I think this was driven by JetBlue. The way I read it, the aircraft didn't turn out to be all it could be as there were sizing and range issues.

Looks like of like they are asking for something along the lines of a 737 -700 IGW of which Aloha has had quite a bit of success running to the mainland from Hawai....

Cheers

There are single aisle model upgrades by both Airbus and Boeing on the drawing boards.

I am not sure of the target delivery date I was given at the Airbus factory some time ago.

Deliveries were due to commence either 2005 or 2008.

Well, ain't the A-321 an upgrade from the basic 320.?
At least size-wise?

JetBlue is growing and all is just perfect, and the warm and fuzzy feeling around camp that Peoples Express had a few years ago is just glowing.
The "New" low cost alternative, the employees that cares, etc.
All good and well.

Uh, what happened to P.E.?
Did they grow too fast?
Or were they ahead of the times?

Then there was Tower Air.
Made a profit every year for the first 14 years in business they did. While other more established firms lost money.
Uh, what happened to Tower Air?
Did they grow too fast?

Then there was Leisure Air.

This morning by the way, Vanguard Airlines ceased operation.

Etc. Etc.

Be careful guys and girls: It looks good now and only the sky is the limit..

Good luck, but uh, don't buy stock in yer own company..

I think all JetBlue need is a A321 and hacksaw... :-) Wouldn't change anything else from the A32X family at the moment as I think it has the potential to equal and outlive the longevity of the B737 family.

A hacksaw? If it's a 'Bus, all you need is some tin snips.

I have been lucky enough to fly both the A320 and B737-700. About 1200 hours in the Airbus and around 1700 in the B737NG.
No comparison at all, Airbus in 20 years ahead of Boeing. Of course the Airbus bashers appear all the time. Just to make it clear I am comparing the 320 family with the 737 family, not the 777 with the 340.
Jet Blue is doing a great job, I hope they are around for a long time. The A321 is what they should buy.
