Help wantedRequired; History of Morayvia Whirlwind HAR.10 XJ7239th November 2018, 19:58I am pulling together the history of the Morayvia Whirlwind HAR.10 XJ723 and am looking for information on its service with the following units. No 155 Sqn in Singapore circa 1955, No 110 Sqn also in Singapore circa 1959. No 228 Sqn circa 1962, and finally No 202 Sqn from August 1964. If anyone has any log books that confirm the location of XJ723 and a particular time I would appreciate receiving this information.
I would also be very interested to see any images of her PRIOR to her going to the Montrose Museum Society, in particular during her time on the squadrons listed above and when she was used by the Offshore Petroleum Training Base in Montrose as an escape procedures trainer.

The following Squadrons
155 from 1955 (Singapore)
110 when 155 disbanded in 1959
228 from 1962
202 from 1964

She was at Leconfield in 1965 on 202, and was the aircraft John Reeson won his GM for his efforts on the Sea Gem Oil Rig
Probably grounded around 1976, but was used at the Royal Review in 1977 hanging from #4 Hangar roof at Finningley

I flew XJ723 on 21st May 1975 on an airtest at Leconfield. 202 Sqn. Flew it again on 31st May on 2 odd trips (non SAR) and it never appeared in my logbook again. I had only moved to Leconfield that month (from Coltishall) so was new to 202 Sqn. If I recall (not with any certainty) Leconfield was at the time 202's HQ and aircraft were swapped through for maintenance. The HQ later moved to Finningly.
