We had the first course in the early sixties.

From what I've heard of the sixties they often were the first course. Quite what the main and dessert consisted of I can only guess.

If you can remember you weren't there.

Ah - but I was and do remember.

The phrase "if you can remember the sixties you weren't there" came from being part of the drugs scene, particularly LSD.

I am remembering less and I must have been there due to my age.

Nowadays by the time someone had read up on the health and safety rules and done a risk assessment they would all have gone home before the the photographer had a chance to say "smile please".

Great picture :ok:

I was a teenager in the ‘60’s, and in retrospect I always thought that, apart from a few people in the Kings Road along with some rock groups, that the period is living a myth. Times were starting to change but only slowly for the suburban majority.

Now the 70’s – that was a time. By then we could afford the Ford Escort, and to finance a night out (and in) with who ever you could talk into sitting in the passenger seat. Then it seemed, when you run out of money someone seemed to give you some more of the stuff. And lets not forget those beautiful summers in the middle.

As for being told to save some for a pension….hoots....your employer did that for you!!
