From the bmi press centre:

EMA to go all baby (http://www.flybmi.co.uk/presscentre/currentpr.asp?Job=View&ArticleID=285&Page=./index.asp)

9 737's for the winter... where are all these crews going to come from?

AR also says that projections for baby's first year are much better than expected... glad one part of the company is making money.

What of all the regional EMB crews? Any comments, guys?

There is a place for bmibaby at EMA but I cant belive BMI
is no longer going to offer business class out of EMA
With destinations like Paris Amsterdam Edinburgh and Glasgow
it seems a shame as the business class pax have alwas been there on these routes. My wife traveled to EDI and she was the only pax in ecconomy with
two rows rows to herself
with the rest of the fokker 100 full of business pax.

I hope they know what they are doing.?

We should all worry about BMI and BE, and BA too, if it comes to that. All their managements know that they should change - indeed, HAVE to change, if they are to survive, yet it is virtually impossible to change a "higher" culture down to a "lower" one. Humans have trouble with that.

What to do? Should they have a go, and fail, or not have a go, and fail? Clearly the former is the only sensible option, but who would put their house on any of BE, BMI or BA (in its current guise) being independent operators in 5 year's time?
