Very laudable indeed.
I somehow doubt that it will get very far, before it just becomes another "front" sadly...

I fear you are completely right, shame the internet and increasing the physical assets it depends on (there being no cyber world or cloud actually out there its still cables and boxes of electronics and optics) is controlled almost exclusively from the USA and by a very few companies who we all know. That is not a healthy situation going forward as these parties either become too big to be regulated / contained by governments -a bad thing , or a re too close to Government -an even worse thing.
China is big enough to have its own versions but that is little help to much of the rest of the world which really needs somethign on the lines of a Google /Facebook scale entities based in in India , Eu or Latam to balance out the US complete domination
