I wonder if anyone can recommend software for a MacBook Pro that would enable me to:
Set North up
Measure degrees from N
Create arcs
Measure distances to a scale along arcs and radials
Create Runway, Ramp and Taxiway diagrams and
Have perhaps some sort of standard aviation symbology embedded or available.

I’ve had some small success (with difficulty) with Adobe products in the past, but the subscription model expense made that quite unsustainable. My project is company-specific, for an area of the world that comprehensive strip information is not available for. It’s not something that I ever expect to generate income, hence my reluctance to spend a great deal of money on it. I’m just looking for something simple that’ll help me along the way. Additionally, I don’t have a lot of time to learn the quirks of a software package vastly beyond my means or needs.

any advice gratefully appreciated.

I can't help with specific software however -

Google - free cad software

Seems a nice article

Use one that uses a "standard" or at least widely used file type.

.dxf as I recall is a published Autocad format intended to transfer drawings between applications
.dwg as I recall is Autocad's internal format but it has been reverse engineered and many packages support it.

Good luck.
