I proposed the same to my fellow mods and the Powers That Be a few months ago, after JH’s departure, but it was not met with approval.

Good idea, but i think it needs change in PPrune ownership first.... not just EY management

Only “approved” rumours allowed on this “Rumour Network”. Cracks me up.

The thing is, "approved" rumours are so much cheaper than "unapproved" rumours that can lead to costly libel cases, only one of which would probably be enough to close PPRuNe down permanently! (And PPRuNe has never claimed to be a party to 'free speech', it freely admits it will censor for a number of reasons, not the least of which is to stay out of court and in the public arena).

Out of interest, what exactly resulted in the ban ?

Is there an actual legal threat letter as my experience of such things on other discussion boards is that they tend to go away once a copy of the letter is posted online.
