Hi all,

Am I right In being told that the only place I can get obtain an Intital Class 1 medical Is In London?

Could anyone reccomend a good practice to go for this medical? Also what I would need to take along, do you have to give them a summary of your medical records or Is that only If they find something they need to Investigate?

I would like some help please.

Kind Regards

Adam

Here's the UK CAA guidance page for initial class 1 medicals.

https://www.caa.co.uk/Commercial-industry/Pilot-licences/Applications/Medical/Apply-for-a-Class-1-medical-certificate/

As it's the UK CAA, I would be inclined to verify with the individual Aeromedical Centre. But basically, its only in and around London -

Despite what it says, I don't think NATS at Swanwick does them - for the same sort of reason as NATS at Prestwick apparently stopped some time ago.

The Aviation Medica website mentioned above is here. Aviation Medica - Services (http://www.aviation-medica.co.uk/services.php)

Good luck

Try Centreline Aviation Medical Services at Wimpole St London and Gatwick. I know they used to do initial medicals.

If you need somewhere on the western side of London I believe Heathrow Medical Services (funnily enough pretty much at Heathrow, in Longford village) do “initials”. Google will reveal more.
