RIP. Was it really a B3? How do you get 7 souls on a B3?

Bench seat up front---All the Hawaii tour helicopters are that way.

"Rescue operations have been hampered by bad weather"

Regrettably, that is often the case. And equally regrettably, often why a rescue is required in the first place.

Ok, thanks. But 3 in the front including the pilot, and 3 in the back?

Well, it is many years since I was in a very early model. It must be quite cozy, especially in the back! But is it possible that the pax. in the front centre seat could unintentionally interfere with the pilot, especially if things start to go wrong?

The pilot is on the left in the H125 with the front bench seat, keeping the talking ballast away from the collective, etc. The back of the Squirrel and derivatives has always been four abreast.

Thanks JE.....yep, the left-hand drive keeps the collective away from the fingers of the punters. But all Squirrels in Asia at least are standard right-hand drive, most if not all with the bench seat. Gotta watch CofG with the front pax unless trim Felines (preferred) ;)

Actually a great and capable setup. The EC130 has four in the back and four in the front, and one can load it fully:
the back bench was occupied by an irish(?) famliy with dad and mom flanked by two huge rugby-type sons aged 18+, while at the front sat me (250lbs) + skinny teenager daugther + wife + pilot.
Taking off in mid summer in Vegas headed for West Grand Canyon the FLI was at +90% enroute!
I was too eager taking in the scenery during climb from bottom of GC to GC rim refueling station to notice FLI on the way up, though.
