Hi all

I'm looking for some up-to-date information on TMA (all the threads I could find were quite dated); specifically, if they still only hire expats for CAPT positions or has the previous hiring policy of not employing expat FO's changed?

I'd be grateful if anyone has any insights into working there, what it is like day-to-day and what TMA are looking for - beyond 1000's of hours float time. It looks like a great job!

Cheers

Hello Folks,
me too!!!! I'm an Italian guy who would like to join this beautiful company (NO SEA rating and around 500h of FT). From the website they don't mention about expat, also they just request EASA license; so who wants to share this kind of info, is highly appreciated. Here or in pm.
Also if it's possible to know which kind of contract they offers you: roaster, payment, duty as FO (question due to the fact that the twin otter isn't a multi crew aircraft).
At the end cost of life in the Maldives and easy of accommodation, but this isn't related to the TMA of course.
thanks to all

Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone has heard back from TMA after the online assessment...
If so can anyone give a brief idea as to what the rest of the recruitment process is like?

Thanks!

I thought TMA’s assessment was a bit difficult for me.
I practiced for online aptitude test before taking assessment but it was totally different style of question I had to confront with it.

i didn’t do very well.

It is silly to ask....
Is TMA’s recruiting process put heavy weight on online assessment?

Is anyone pass their assessment with no good result?

Hey Kein09,

Did the online test myself as well. I found it very hard indeed. Don't know how much weight they put on this in regards to taking the next decision into the hiring process.

Could you please share your background and experience?

Thank you!

I cant say what is going on now because it had been a while. But the only expats i flew with came in with a ME commercial seaplane rating and at least 1000 hr in Otters. FO were almost all local. Sometimes two expats would fly together but unusual. If you want to fly there you need to go pay your dues getting hours some where else.
really helps if your a tri. Spent alot of time in right seat with local fo's training for upgrade.

Seems to have gone quiet, has anyone got any further info after the online assessment? I see other float operators in the Maldives recruiting recently but no updates from TMA.

Sorry for late reply.
I was extremely busy nowadays.

I did online assessment almost 4 months ago but it didn’t go well.

I already mentioned that their assessment was tough compared with other aviation assessment.

If you are smart person, you have nothing to worry about it.

Simply you need to sit down at your desk for assessment then do it.

I think there is no tool to prepare their assessment since it is quite different from ordinary aviation assessments.

Can you advise what was included, maths test, pictures/shapes, etc?

I had flown for TMA back in 2000, have oodles of float/amphib/twotter time, and had to do the test as well about 3 months ago. Didn't finish with 5 or 6 questions to go. Haven't heard back yet, but I assume they are figuring out their pilot requirements for the upcoming heavy season. If they call, wouldn't expect to hear anything until Sept or Oct.

Looks like it’s not just TMA that will require more pilots at that time.

Hi all,

Can any previous or current pilots shed some light on roster and pay for FO's.

If anyone has some updated info on how the work permits/validations work that would be a bonus as well.

Cheers! :ok:

Hello guys . I am interested in flying there. Those who have recently flown in the company can tell me about the monthly salary ?. My license is ICAO issued in Argentina but I have not seen complications with that. I have a CPL / ME / IR, English approved and I am a British resident. Thanks a lot, guys!
