Spokesperson for the Mayors office said the plane “stopped in Mecca”. Lmao. Where do they get these super secret agents from!?!
Sure glad it wasn’t my flight! Was just in JFK a few days ago.

Disgusting, considering the a380 capacity it makes it even worse, imagine a 12 hours flight with that amount of air recirculated, yakkkk !!

Jack, I'm guessing you haven't spent much time down the back of an A380. This actually doesn't sound much out of the ordinary for a JFK. Lost count of how many times I stopped "sick" Pac at the door only to be overruled by purser and/or Medlink when they were clearly full of flu.

as for crew being sick... we all know the company is so very forgiving when you press 2... (only half joking before the usual suspects start on)

interestingly the first article I saw about this attributed it to bleed air/fumes but I now cannot find reference to it. Have there been fine events recently with the A380? I can't recall ever having a report lodged when I brought it up, usual response was "that's normal on engine start call us if it persists". What IS the policy? Do they even have one?

For the real version of what happened you can apply process of elimination. Begin with EK's official statement

If Vanilla Ice was on my plane, I would be sick as well 😷

According to Reuters, 3 pax and 7 crew taken to hospital. Wonder if fatigue played any part in that....

There is no recirculated air on any modern day aircraft.

If we are going to be silly for the week-end : Dr told the Capt there were many sick people on board and asked how soon it would be before they could land. Capt replied that it was difficult to say. Dr, zoning in , asked " Well, can you take a guess ?" Capt replied " Well, maybe not for another 45 -55 minutes". Dr, in shock : " You can't take a guess for another 45-55 minutes ? " !
