Gents
I came across a mysterious log book entry for Beech D-18S N85794 based in Tangier around 1951/52. The owner was possibly Mr Wilson. Despite searches and inquiry to FAA, I was unable to find anything on the plane. I wonder if the reg is correct, but I could not find anything similar.
Any ideas?

Seems it may have flown to France 12/52.

The production list for the D18S may give you clues.

Yes, the information comes from me. It is a mystery. I have rechecked the production list, and came across a possible clue, but it needs further checking.

Any chance it could be a plane connected to WWII pilot Jan Zumbach. He was involved with a lot of smuggling flights out of France within that timeframe, and also had interests in Tangier. Seem to remember from his book that he flew a Beech 18 on a gold smuggling adventure between Spain and France. Don't remember, but it might have originated in Tangier.

There is such a chance, but it is not the plane used by him. :)
The book must be treated with caution. It is not that it is not true, but rather it is not entire truth and the truth it really was.
